Flow-Induced Vibration of a Reversed U-Shaped Jumper Conveying Oil-Gas Two-Phase Flow

چکیده

Subsea jumpers connecting the underwater wellhead and nearby manifold commonly undergo flow-induced vibration (FIV) due to spatially frequent alteration in flow direction, velocity, pressure phase volume fraction of oil–gas two-phase flow, potentially leading fatigue damage. This paper reports numerical results FIV a reversed U-shaped jumper excited by gas–liquid which evolves from initial slug with fixed ratio 1:2 when transporting through jumper. The response pattern evolution are examined gas rate Qg = 4–12 kg/s liquid QL 96–288 kg/s. When passes jumper, regime subsequently presents bubble churn imperfect annular flow. out-of-plane frequency coincides fluctuation for four bends, suggesting fluid–structure interaction (FSI). Nevertheless, displacement is limited maximum value less than 0.0014D (where D diameter) present considered range.

CFD Simulation of Gas-Solid Two-Phase Flow in Pneumatic Conveying of Wheat

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of gas-solid flow through a positive low-pressure pneumatic conveyor were performed using Eulerian-Eulerian framework. Pressure drop in pneumatic conveying pipelines, creation and destruction of plugs along the horizontal and vertical pipes, effect of 90° elbows and U-bends on cross-section concentrations, and rope formation and dispersion were...

Analysis of the nonlinear axial vibrations of a cantilevered pipe conveying pulsating two-phase flow

The parametric resonance of the axial vibrations of a cantilever pipe conveying harmonically perturbed two-phase flow is investigated using the method of multiple scale perturbation. The nonlinear coupled and uncoupled planar dynamics of the pipe are examined for a scenario when the axial vibration is parametrically excited by the pulsating frequencies of the two phases conveyed by the pipe. Aw...

A method for bubble volume measurement under constant flow conditions in gas–liquid two-phase flow

Measuring the volume of a bubble, especially at its detachment, is a basic subject in gas-liquid two-phase flow research. A new indirect method for this measurement under constant flow conditions is presented. An electronic device is designed and constructed based on laser beam intensity. This device calculates the frequency of the bubble formation by measuring the total time of the formation p...

Correcting a Coriolis Meter for Two Phase Oil & Gas Flow

It is also common for flowmeters to be installed downstream of a two or three phase separator. If the well conditions change or the separator has been incorrectly sized, then it is possible that the oil liquid outlet may have some gas carry under. The effects of gas entrainment on the output of ultrasonic and Coriolis meters has been reported previously [1] [2]. It is already known that gas ent...

Thermal simulation of two-phase flow in under-balanced drilling operation with oil and gas production

The accurate prediction of wellbore temperature distribution helps to accurately estimate well pressure profile and bottom-hole pressure (BHP) which is important in the under-balanced drilling (UBD) operation. In this paper effect of temperature variation due to heat transfer of drilling fluid with the formation and also oil and gas production from the reservoir into the annulus in under-balanc...
